Rania Refaat, Executive Director and Founder of El‑Pergola Puppet Theatre, brought a small universe of strings, wood, and imagination to life as she guided refugee children in Berlin—ages 8 to 15—through the delicate art of marionette‑making and puppetry. Supported by Jugendkunstschule Treptow‑Köpenick and in warm cooperation with Volkssolidarität Berlin e.V., the workshop became a gentle sanctuary where young hands carved stories, stitched identities, and discovered the quiet power of creating a character that moves because they will it to move.
